As your constituent, I implore your office to join the coalition of state attorneys general suing DOGE for their egregious violations of federal data privacy laws. Recent reports indicate Elon Musk's DOGE team has illegally accessed and mishandled troves of highly sensitive government data, including the private personal information of millions of Americans. This unprecedented data breach, perpetrated by unqualified private civilians, represents a alarming violation of the Privacy Act of 1974 and a gross dereliction of cybersecurity protocols designed to safeguard our personal data. The DOGE team has reportedly gained unauthorized access to systems containing student loan records, health data, financial accounts, and social security numbers across numerous federal agencies. They have recklessly connected these secure data systems to commercial servers, used unsecured private email, and fed this pilfered data into unregulated AI software, all in contravention of federal law. While temporary restrictions have been placed on their Treasury Department access, this is merely a band-aid solution that still allows two DOGE operatives unmonitored "read-only" access. This unacceptable situation cannot be allowed to persist. DOGE's actions represent a severe breach of public trust and an unlawful exploitation of America's most private data. I urge you to take immediate legal action to halt these transgressions, prevent any further data misuse, and deliver full accountability. Failing to do so jeopardizes the privacy and security of every citizen in our state. Thank you for your consideration of this urgent matter.
