I am writing to express my profound opposition to HB 1136 and the diversion of educational efforts in my children’s school district toward student success and staff development toward the defense of the corporations ability to exist and retain the elected officials on their school board. Using legislation to threaten the dissolution in a year’s time of a corporation that serves more than 22,000 students and their families is a does not serve the best interests of students or their teachers and I beseech you to advocate for IPS’s continued success and stability in the Indianapolis community. Preserving local decision-making and avoiding disruptions to students and families is of the utmost importance in building strong communities.
