Oppose HR471

The Fix Our Forests Act poses a grave threat to our environment, biodiversity, and climate. Despite its misleading name, this bill would undermine crucial environmental protections, restrict scientific input and public engagement, and prioritize logging interests over the long-term health of our forests and wildlife. At a time of escalating biodiversity loss and climate change, we cannot afford policies that open the door to unchecked logging on federal lands and roll back safeguards for endangered species. Additionally, the bill fails to invest in proven solutions like defensible space, emergency planning, and home hardening to truly protect communities from wildfire risks. We urge you to oppose the Fix Our Forests Act and instead support policies grounded in science and sustainability that will allow our forests and their invaluable ecosystems to thrive for generations to come.
