Congress Must exercise presidential oversight

To: Rep. Maloy, Sen. Curtis, Sen. Lee

From: A verified voter in Ivins, UT

January 3

How much more has to happen before you see what is happening - Donald Trump has, without authorization of Congress, declared war, invaded a sovereign country, toppled its leader, and claims to assume control of the country and its resources. This is not only an attack on Venezuela, it is an attack on the international rules of order established post World War II. Those rules were established by the Allies, realizing that in a post-nuclear world, that aggressive actions like these could easily escalate, result in World War III and the end of civilization. The International Rules of Order require that countries respect each others sovereignty and resources. That disputes be brought to the United Nations for peaceful resolution. Trump’s actions normalize Putin’s actions of attacking Ukraine, thus enabling him and other dictators to attack sovereign countries. Congress MUST step up and exercise its Constitutionally mandated role of oversight of a presidency that is operating way outside its authority, to the detriment and risk of not only the United States, but of the world. Stop him now.
