Every day more and more, life is unrecognizable. I fear stepping out of my house, I fear finding love and existing in public, I fear the explicit adoration for affluence and power. I ask you, my representatives, those chosen to speak, to protect all of us. LGBT+ people are not the enemy. Disabled people are not the enemy. Federal Employees are not the enemy. America is the shining city on a hill, but only if we stand up for everyone's right for a spot on the hill. This goes for those who are born into a need for a little more kindness from the world around them, and those coming here to seek safety and the ability to live as full a life as they can make for themselves. For centuries, we've pillaged our people, our land, and most recently have run headlong into squandering our goodwill in the world. Please help stop the attack on our rights. Please push forward legislation that is for the people, not the oligarchy. Don't bend, don't bow, don't fund, don't give up on us. I truly don't know what to say to beg for help. To beg for empathy. To beg for people to understand the path that we are on. I can't cite all history has shown us. But, goodness, I'm scared and those in power don't see what I see. What did we sell the soul of American for? I weep for her and her children, all of them. And, I keen for the life we could all have if those who stand, supposedly, as our avatar, would just open their eyes, use their voices and actually do for those who chose them. We secured your positions of power, well, some of us. Admittedly, I would never have voted for you all. But, you still represent me. Kinda funny how that works. It seems my republican brethen have long forgotten that. But, thankfully for the sake of humanity and the sake of our world, I and people like me, don't forget, hate or discount those who may live, think and vote differently. When I walk through the world, I give kindness wherever I can. The lack of that is astounding among those "at the top." Maybe, I should walk through life in a more transactional way, but honestly, you all don't look that happy doing it and I see the state of the world in the hands of those who've pursued this way of thinking. May you all think on the calls and cries of your constituents.
