I saw that in the “Big Beautiful Bill” Florida could lose billions in SNAP benefits. Not only would that be terrible for our people, but cutting food assistance is dumb all around. Much like the USAID cuts that hurt our farmers and the people we served, cutting SNAP would hurt more than just the poor people that you clearly care so little about.
Cutting food assistance hurts the people who grow the food. That’s how cuts to USAID took billions from our farmers. So cuts to SNAP will do that, but since SNAP funds are spent at grocery stores, it will also hurt those. This will lead to grocery stores going out of business and eventually just to everyone getting poorer except the rich people you cut the taxes of.
The decisions you’re making have huge, negative feedback loops for your constituents and their communities. You need to make better decisions.
