The United States has long supported the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine against Russian aggression. However, the Trump administration's recent overtures to Russia and exclusion of Ukraine from peace talks represent a concerning reversal of this policy. Ceding Ukrainian territory to Russia and denying Ukraine's bid for NATO membership would embolden Putin's authoritarian regime and undermine our nation's credibility on the global stage. A strong, unified stance with our European allies is critical to counter Russian revanchism and defend the rules-based international order. I urge you to unequivocally condemn Trump's capitulation to Putin, reaffirm support for Ukraine's right to self-determination, and take legislative action to uphold our commitment to this key democratic partner.
