Immediate action is required to halt the unlawful seizure of federal power by private actors and to prevent further destabilization of our country. The facts are clear:     •    Elon Musk’s team has taken control of the U.S. Treasury’s payment system, granting them de facto access to the federal checkbook and the financial data of every American citizen and business.     •    Individuals with no security clearances have accessed classified government data after Musk’s so-called “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) ousted USAID security officials.     •    Critical government functions are being dismantled by unelected private individuals, with Musk unilaterally deciding which programs to eliminate, bypassing congressional authority.     •    A trade war with our closest allies—Canada, Mexico, and China—has been launched without congressional approval, sending markets into turmoil, risking American jobs, and threatening global stability.     •    Trump’s administration has retaliated against civil servants who uphold the law, removing FBI and USAID personnel from their posts in what can only be described as a purge of those who stand against this authoritarian power grab. This is not a policy disagreement. This is not bureaucracy being “streamlined.” This is a coup—an outright attempt to seize power and dismantle the institutions that make the United States a constitutional democracy. This moment calls for courage and immediate action. I urge you to:     1.    Introduce and advance articles of impeachment against President Trump for his role in enabling this unlawful takeover.     2.    Use every available legislative and procedural tool to obstruct and resist further power grabs, including denying funding to illegitimate agencies like DOGE.     3.    Empower state attorneys general to take immediate legal action against those unlawfully assuming federal authority.     4.    Mobilize the American public through hearings, investigations, and direct appeals to expose the full scale of this corruption. This is a constitutional emergency. If Congress fails to act, the United States as we know it may not survive. History will remember what you did—or failed to do—at this critical hour.
