Vote NO: The SAVE Act Is Voter Suppression!

To: Sen. Kaine, Sen. Warner, Rep. Connolly

From: A constituent in Oakton, VA

April 10

I am appalled that the SAVE act has passed the House. Why were there 4 democrats that voted yes?! Let's be clear: the so-called Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act isn't about securing our elections, it's about suppressing voters, especially WOMAN voters who have changed their last names or low income residents who no longer have access to their original documents. I appreciate that you voted NO. However, we need you to work with your fellow senators to make sure this does not pass the Senate! Why are we moving backwards? Women already fought hard for the rights that are being taken away, one by one, under the guise of safety precautions. Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act (H.R. 22/S.128) needs to be squashed. Please defend our democracy from those who are trying to dismantle it.
