I'm contacting you today to urge you to do everything you can immediately to extend the ACA tax credits. The affordable Care act allowed millions of Americans to finally get health insurance. Our family was self-employed for decades. Actual health insurance was always out of reach for us. The ACA changed that. Small business owners across the country struggle to be able to afford insurance for themselves or their employees. Millions and millions of Americans work jobs that do not offer benefits and this is the only way they have access to health insurance. People who are wor king multiple jobs have no choice but to go without insurance at all or to sign up for the affordable Care act. rts their families, their children... By allowing the tax credits to expire, millions of Americans will lose their insurance entirely. This not only harms those people individually, but it hu lthcare. People with chronic illnesses will be forced to go without medication or treatment and will get sicker and or die as a result of not having access to hea Patience being treated for cancer and other serious illnesses will not be able to get the treatment they need. By allowing people's health issues to spir al out of control, it will force more patients to show up in emergency rooms, straining our hospitals. rce the closure of hospitals across the country, especially in rural America, which are often red. Cuts to Medicaid and changes to Medicare have a direct impact on healthcare providers, and the hospitals that treat everyone. Cutting these funds will fo We are already seeing hospitals close in rural parts of the country. This forces people to drive even further to receive even the most basic care. For ma ny, traveling is not an option. Countries around the world have been able to successfully provide healthcare to their citizens. America has failed miserably at this. Offering a program like Medicare for everyone would solve much of our nation's problems regarding access to healthcare. However, to date Congress has fai led at this initiative. The closest we came was when Obamacare was first passed and it worked extremely well. ase who will be unable to receive care unless Congress extends these credits and allows people to get affordable health insurance. Please think of all the children, the babies, the elderly, the sick, our veterans, the needy, patients with cancer, patients with diabetes, or heart dise Please stand up for Americans and extend the subsidies now.
