PLEASE, DO NOT LET THE SAVE ACT PASS. While I am a single woman and I am fortunate enough to have a passport, I would like to speak on behalf of all married women who have changed their names and all low income families who cannot afford a passport. We have a constitutional right to be able to vote and we should not have to jump through hoops to be able to access that right. Especially as citizens who do not have any type of felonies on their records. It is no secret that this guise to “making sure only citizens are voting” is really a ploy to undermine women’s rights to vote. I will not sit back quietly as the rights I have been afforded by the women that fought before me are sneakily taken away. I am currently single, however whether single or otherwise, I will not be spoken for by anyone other than myself. I do not believe men should be the voices of their families. EVERYONE has the right to vote and EVERYONE should be able to vote for themselves. Families that cannot afford passports should not be withheld from voting. Women who have changed their names should not be withheld from voting. THIS is voter suppression. THIS is illegal. Please please please do not let this act pass.
