I am writing to you today as a deeply concerned American citizen. Recent reports and rhetoric attributed to President Donald Trump have sparked widespread alarm, particularly allegations suggesting support for extreme measures, including the deportation of U.S. citizens to camps reminiscent of historical atrocities.
While I understand that political discourse can often be exaggerated or misinterpreted, I urge you and your colleagues in Congress to take any suggestion of policies that threaten the constitutional rights of American citizens with the utmost seriousness. Even the hint of actions such as deporting citizens or establishing internment-style camps should be unequivocally condemned and prevented.
Our nation is founded on the principles of liberty, due process, and equal protection under the law. No citizen should ever fear being stripped of their rights due to their political beliefs, heritage, religion, or background. We have seen from history the dangers of silence and inaction in the face of extremist proposals. I respectfully urge you to speak out publicly against any such ideas and to ensure strong legislative safeguards are in place to protect the rights and freedoms of all Americans.
Thank you for your service and for your attention to this critical matter. I hope I can count on you to stand firm in defense of our Constitution and the fundamental values that define our democracy.
