I am writing because I heard of a bill reintroduced by Senator Mike Rounds to eliminate the Department of Education and I am concerned. While I know, should this come to a vote, I can count on you to defend the department, I want to know what you’re doing to reach across the aisle and encourage colleagues to do the same. Your public support of DEI and criticism of the current administration has been admirable and makes me proud to be from NJ. My hope is that when cameras aren’t on, you’re having hard conversations with your colleagues and challenging them to stand up for children all across the country. As you know, this is not a partisan issue. Thank you, as always, for your time and attention.
