I am terrified! Who can I turn to for actual help? I am a 73 year old retired teacher living in NH who taught fifth and sixth grade students in rural Vermont for 31 years. I depend upon social security, a small pension, and modest investments in order to live- no travel, a couple of restaurant meals out over the course of a year, I drive a 2014 Subaru, and enjoy no other ‘luxuries.’ My employers and I paid into social security. I pay for my Medicare and a supplemental policy. To threaten these programs is absolute theft. Musk, who has no business medaling in the the Treasury Department, and Trump, who doesn’t care at all about the rule of law, are threatening my survival! To see my means of basic survival being threatened along with the inevitability of paying significantly more for necessities like fuel oil and groceries is terrifying. I am horrified by what this administration is doing. Why does it seem that Bernie Sanders is the only person in Congress getting any significant air time in the news and in social media. We need to see and hear from you folks in Congress on a daily basis in order to restore our faith that there is still some vestige of our democracy left. You can sit on your hands and watch this country crumble, or you can roll up your sleeves and demand visibility and change. Which will it be?
