Oppose SB 829 - Protect Individual Liberties and Marital Autonomy

To: Rep. Kannady, Sen. Rosino, Gov. Stitt

From: A constituent in Oklahoma City, OK

February 4, 2025

No-fault divorce has been an important legal provision that protects the dignity and autonomy of individuals in a marriage. Removing it would force spouses to remain trapped in dysfunctional or abusive relationships against their will. This proposed legislation undermines personal freedoms and could lead to serious harm. As citizens, we must safeguard our basic rights and reject attempts to control private family matters through government overreach. I urge you to oppose SB 829 and any efforts to abolish no-fault divorce in our state. Protecting individual liberties should be a paramount concern. Thank you for your service to our state and community.
