Reallocate parade funds to support constituents, prioritize recovery

To: Sen. Klobuchar, Sen. Smith, Rep. McCollum

From: A constituent in Saint Paul, MN

May 3

A military parade is an unnecessary expense that siphons funds away from more important priorities during challenging economic times. The proposed parade would cost millions of dollars that could be better allocated towards supporting struggling families, funding critical social services, or investing in infrastructure and job creation programs that uplift communities. As representatives, we have a responsibility to direct taxpayer dollars towards initiatives that truly benefit the people rather than indulging in displays of excess. I urge you to reconsider this parade and instead focus resources on addressing the pressing needs of your constituents during this period of recovery.
