I am writing as a furious and heartbroken constituent. Your vote for this reckless budget—one that guts Medicaid and sends health insurance costs soaring for millions of everyday Americans—was a betrayal of the people you were elected to serve.
This vote did nothing but hand out more tax breaks to the wealthiest 1% while pushing working families, seniors, and small business owners to the brink. You have one more chance to do the right thing: vote to extend the ACA subsidies and start working toward a real, sustainable healthcare solution for this country.
Right now, millions of Americans are staring at impossible choices—whether to buy health insurance or put food on the table. In the richest nation in the world, that’s not just bad policy; it’s a moral failure.
I have friends who are literally wondering how they’re going to survive. Small business owners are preparing to close their doors because they can’t afford coverage for themselves or their employees. And ordinary people—people like me—are being told to accept insurance premiums of $2,000 a month or more for a single person. That’s obscene.
Healthcare should never be a luxury for the privileged few. You still have the power to fix this. Use it.
