The President called his day of tariffs, liberation day! I think a more accurate description would be recession day! As we alienate the world, our lives will get harder! We all understand tariffs are taxes on consumers! Food, goods and cars will only get more expensive! During a time our lives are already hard, we are facing harder times! Meanwhile social security, Medicaid and Medicare are threatened! The world is turning away from us and Americans like myself are facing harder struggles! But you vote for a tax plan that gives huge tax cuts to billionaires but guts Medicaid and will go after Medicare and social security next! While keeping a social security office open and stead’s system open was something, it doesn’t prevent either of those agencies from being gutted! In fact, they are! Closure of social security offices, cuts in staff have already happened! It now takes over two hours to reach someone at the social security office! All because they were already short staffed! NOAA already has lost staff! It was never about fraud, waste and abuse! It was never about efficiency! In fact these cuts are making systems less efficient. I believe that’s the point! I believe it’s intended to break the system to justify privatizing it! As our country heads into a recession and we alienate all of our allies, we hear nothing from you. Our country is less safe, the stock market is plummeting, the economy is cratering, we are becoming less stable and less safe, you push through a budget that gives huge tax cuts to billionaires and blows up the deficit! That is not why we voted for you! You are not representing us! You are not supporting the constitution which is your sworn oath! You are abandoning us! As our lives get harder, please know we see that you aren’t working for us! Please don’t count on us supporting you! We need Representatives that work for Oklahomans- not billionaires! We need Representatives that are courageous enough to stand up for us! We see that you aren’t doing this and we won’t forget!
