I am writing in reference to several bills I have concerns about.
The North Carolina General Assembly has continued to try to erode the powers of Governor Josh Stein. This is another power grab and will further interrupt the balance between the Legislature and the Executive branch of North Carolina. Please vote NO on HB64!
I am also opposed to HB72 which would prohibit our attorney general from protecting North Carolinians from executive orders that violate constitutional power and stop federal funding already approved by Congress. Our state should protect us from federal overreach and our attorney general should not be blocked from challenging executive orders that would cause widespread and immediate harm across our state. Vote NO on HB72.
With guns as the leading cause of death for children and teens, allowing more unfettered, untrained access to firearms will put our children and teens at risk. Please vote NO on HB5 and HB38.
Local leaders – including mayors and police chiefs – know best how to address criminal activity in their cities. The state legislature has no business telling local municipalities what firearm legislation they can and cannot pass. Please vote NO on HB9!
