Shifting the U.S. economy to war standards is bad for everyone!

I am writing today to urge you to prevent Donald Trump’s alleged consideration of switching the American economy into a war-based economy. Americans cannot afford to live reasonably safe and secure lives as it is. Cutting budgetary spending on social service initiatives to funnel more money into an already $1B/day war machine is irresponsible and untenable.
Many Americans are already working two or more jobs to provide some sense of stability to their families. Budget cuts to social services like healthcare and food assistance would be devastating. Especially since the budget is provided by tax payers, and with the rapid detention and deportation of so many people, a drastic decrease in tax income is set to begin come 2027.
Add to that the fact that Trump keeps telling everyone the war is basically over!?! To what end would this economic shift come? If we don’t need war money, why is he lobbying for war money?
This cannot stand.
