Elon Musk, an unelected billionaire, is attempting an unprecedented takeover of the federal government by exploiting his wealth and relationship with President Trump. This hostile power grab undermines American democracy and puts the interests of the wealthy elite above the needs of everyday citizens. After spending hundreds of millions to boost Trump's campaign, he was granted an official White House role with alarming access to critical government functions. He has used this influence to pressure agencies into enacting self-serving policies like cutting public aid to reduce his tax burden and forcing resignations of qualified civil servants. Musk has also spread dangerous disinformation and celebrated white nationalist rhetoric. The American people did not vote for Elon Musk to wield this level of authority. He is an unaccountable private citizen with no mandate to dismantle the social safety net, slash public funding, or reshape society to benefit billionaires at the expense of working families. Granting a corporation CEO this much sway over US governance is unacceptable. Musk's undemocratic influence is eroding constitutional checks and balances. Immediate action must be taken to remove him from any position of power within the federal government before more harm is done. We urge you to stand up for democracy by demanding President Trump fire Elon Musk and restore ethics to the White House.
