Vote NO on HR22!!

To: Rep. Mace

From: A verified voter in Hilton Head Island, SC

February 12, 2025

The SAVE Act (H.R. 22 / S.128) is an egregious attempt at voter suppression that would disenfranchise millions of eligible American voters. Requiring a birth certificate or passport to register to vote creates unnecessary barriers, as over 21 million citizens lack easy access to such documents. Women who have changed their names after marriage, elderly Americans without passports, and disabled individuals would face heightened difficulties. Furthermore, citizens of color are three times more likely than white citizens to lack these identification documents. This legislation serves no legitimate purpose, as there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud that would justify such stringent requirements. The SAVE Act undermines the fundamental right to vote and must be vehemently opposed. I urge you to defend our democracy by rejecting this discriminatory bill that suppresses the voices of countless Americans.
