INDEPENDENT VOTER Close you eyes. Let what I am about to say sink in. Really think about it. For over eight years and millions of times, the now President of the United States routinely claims massive voter fraud without ever providing any shred of evidence for the sole purpose of damaging confidence in our election system. Let me say again. Are you carefully listening? The President of the United States. Remember when it comes to voting, he is a candidate, not President. He has no more standing than any other candidate. He has lost his legal election changes over 65 times in court but still he persists. Yet his efforts continue. As an election candidate, he wants to create a national voter role federal data base that picks who can and cannot vote. Still listening? Just in case that fails, he is trying to take over the mail-in voting process to limit mail in voting. Even though HE votes using a mail-in ballot! Even though our service members vote using mail-in ballots. Even though many Republican States rely heavily on mail-in balloting. Even though many studies have proven mail-in voting is very secure and reliable in verifying voter ID’s. That may not be enough so he also has demanded many Republican States redraw their districts so the politicians pick the voter! Still carefully listening? That still might be enough so Trump has been beating and blackmail all over you to pass the Save Act. A bill with voter ID requirements so strict that millions will not be able to vote. Poor people, married woman would have to find their ORIGINAL birth certificates! How about this one. College student who want to participate in our election process are being restricted by Trump wanting to close voting locations at college campuses. Are you still carefully listening! Even though Staes run their own elections, Trump has routinely threatened to send ICE to polling locations. That ‘s right. Federal security agents with guns at State polling locations. Like a third world country. Still listening? Just in case all that doesn’t work, Trump has threatened prosecution and jail of election workers if he finds there was voter fraud, no matter how small. As President, he has routinely use the office and title to claim massive fraud because Trump knows if you say something over and over and over again, even if it’s not true, people will believe it. Remember, this is the President of the United States. Keep in mind, there is a legitimate legal process to present claims of voter fraud to our legal court system. All you need to do is present the evidence. Trump has NEVER done this. Still there? Now tell me what YOU HAVE DONE TO PREVENT THESE ATTACKS ON OUR ELECTION PROCESS? I am listening now. Name one thing. What has Congress done? I can think of nothing that would be a more important use of your time. One example. You have betrayed YOUR oath of office. To yourself, to the American people, to your constituents. Is there a shred of integrity left in any of you? Again, nothing could be more important. So where is your voice, your leadership? WHY ARE YOU NOT SPEAKING UP IN FRONT OF A MICROPHONE WITH A FULL-THROATED SUPPORT OF OUR ELECTION INTEGRITY?
