The state of our union is horrific in my view. While it's easy to blame the current President this is not his fault.
He can only do what he is allowed to do.
I have watched in bitter horror the abdication of your jobs to the will of an 80yr old you wouldn't leave alone with your teenage children.
There is no oversight. This makes the president authoritarian.
Article I, Section 8, Clause 18 doesn't say this is optional.
You are paid to do this not by the rich but by my fellow Americans.
I know only the rich can push for legislation but if this was still a country of and by the people I think purposely lying by lawmakers would be sanctioned. ( I e. Comer on election)
Even though we have an emollients clause in our constitution the current President has been allowed to blatantly enrich himself. Article I, Section 9, Clause 8
I can go on and on the damage but bottom line is you all are not doing the job that everyday Americans are paying you to do. And most egregious, is you swore an oath to God to protect and defend the American constitution.
Title 5, Section 3331 of the United States Code, requires members to swear or affirm to support and defend the Constitution, bear true faith and allegiance to it, and faithfully discharge their duties without mental reservation.
It seems these are your priorities what the president wants; what the rich want, what will help me politically and collecting money from lobbyists and pacs.
The American people you are here to serve are at best are an after thought.
In the hierarchy of America the lawmakers seem to be above the people that pay their salary. That thought needs to change.
The American people have plenty to work on and correct. But if you would do your jobs honestly and are guided by your sworn oath and job descriptions it would help us move forward out of this pit.
The president isn't the problem; its the enablers/ accomplices.
