An Open Letter

To: Sen. Sheehy, Sen. Daines, Rep. Downing

From: A constituent in Laurel, MT

June 9

Trump has declared war on the American people. It has long been our right to protest injustice. When the people in power try to take away that right, we are no longer a free country. Those who have sat idly by and allowed this to happen to what was once a beacon of light and example for democracy should absolutely be ashamed. You have the power to stop this. All we need is a few brave Republicans to stand up and say "This is wrong." The people protecting their neighbors from being kidnapped by masked men who will not identify themselves are the real heroes of the day. ICE is not deporting dangerous criminals. They are ambushing people at their immigration hearings zip tying children, kidnapping mothers, kids, fathers and neighbors. People who work and pay taxes. It is not the people protesting these injustices and protecting their neighbors who are the villains in this story. And now, to bring in troops not to protect innocent people, but to escalate violence is unprecedented and dangerous. We are losing our democracy and you have done nothing to stop it. Please, I am asking you listen to your conscience and put a stop to this now. Impeach Trump for his crimes against the American people.
