Federal retirement benefits

To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Graham, Rep. Mace

From: A constituent in Summerville, SC

May 2

I am writing regarding the bill to kill the Social Security bridge. This is wrong. My wife and I were both federal employees though I left a few years ago. Now my wife is being forced out and is taking early retirement beginning this f all she is being encouraged daily to leave as are all federal employees. We understand the Trump administration wants to downsize the federal workforce and while it directly affects us we support the America First agenda. But now not only is she being encouraged to leave they want to take away the safety parachute that is the Social Security bridge further hurting the empl oyees being forced out. Why the hate for federal employees? Many of us are Trump, Mace, Garahm and Scott supporters and for our vote you all are going to take our means of income, forcing them out and taking away any means of supplemental income when they get out. After 25 years of service and at age 56, what are we supposed to do? s when they choose to leave and don't take away their means of income. It's not like there are a bunch of jobs in South Carolina that can be just moved over to. If you want to downsize the government then help those employee Please remember us and oppose the bill to take way the Social Security bridge that would leave us republicans here in South Carolina without an income in the sunset of our lives.
