Due Process Rights are American

This is the message sent to Senator Young. I didn’t bother including you. But you should see what I am asking the Senior Senator from the state of Indiana. Senator Young, America is a country built upon written rules going back to our Declaration of Independence. And along with the concise US Constitution, we have courts to interpret those words. You have always been a common sense Republican. The time has come for you to act and speak as you know in your heart you can and should. Due process rights aren’t sexy, but they are American. A human was illegally picked up, shipped abroad like cargo, and has been left to rot in one of the world’s known torture camps that some call a prison. The Trump Administration has admitted this was done in procedural error. This is a travesty of justice. It is likely a violation of multiple international treaties the US has signed. You need to speak out. Bring Kilmar home. Make it clear this cannot happen again. People are not criminals for wearing a Bulls hat.
