Our government, led by the elected representatives of the people, has veered dangerously off course on foreign policy regarding the Russia-Ukraine war. Elon Musk's baseless accusation of "traitor" against Senator Mark Kelly, a combat veteran and former astronaut, is reprehensible. Kelly's criticism of the administration's haphazard and self-destructive approach to this conflict stems from his decades of service defending our nation's democratic values. Undermining crucial military and intelligence support to Ukraine aids Russia's illegal invasion while alienating our allies. Musk's billionaire status does not entitle him to meddle in affairs beyond his expertise. We must reject such corrosive rhetoric from the wealthy and unelected, and realign ourselves with our democratic partners in supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and freedom from Russian aggression. Our nation's security and global standing are at stake.
