Vote NO on the “Big Beautiful Bill” — It Hurts Idahoans
To: Rep. Simpson
From: A constituent in Boise, ID
July 2
I can’t believe you support the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill.” This bill will hurt so many of your constituents—hardworking Idahoans who rely on healthcare, food assistance, and stable local jobs. If you vote yes on this, you’re not standing with the people—you’re helping the rich get richer at the expense of everyone else.
This bill would slash $1 trillion from Medicaid, rip healthcare from over 16 million Americans, raise electricity costs, threaten millions of jobs, and deliver the biggest-ever cut to food assistance for families, children, and veterans. All while increasing the national deficit by $4 trillion to give $1 trillion in tax cuts to the ultra-wealthy.
And the damage goes beyond just the cuts. When people lose access to these programs, they stop spending. That means grocery stores, nursing homes, clinics, and hospitals across Idaho will struggle or close—taking jobs with them. You know this. Yet you’re backing a bill that prioritizes billionaires hoarding money offshore over your own community.
If you vote for this bill, you’re turning your back on the very people you were elected to represent. Do the right thing and vote NO.
