Start building State Election Defenses Now

Start Building State Election Defenses Now — Before 2026 The 2026 midterms are already under threat, and our state needs to act now — not in October 2026. The playbook is visible: pressure on redistricting maps, changes to ballot access rules, federal agents deployed to intimidate election offices, and pre-planned challenges to certifications. Louisiana is already in the middle of it. The terrain is being rigged before a single vote is cast. What I want from you is a serious, funded state-level preparation program — not a press release. That means training state attorneys on emergency election litigation so they can move fast when federal interference hits. It means election officials knowing their legal authorities cold, with legal backup on speed dial. It means mayors and county clerks understanding exactly what federal agents can and cannot do at a polling place. The decentralized structure of American elections is our strongest defense, but only if the people running those elections know how to use it. The window to build these defenses is now, while there is still time to train, coordinate, and legislate. A strongly-worded statement in November 2026 helps no one. Get the funding allocated, get the training programs running, and get our state ready to hold the line.
