The actions described appear to be an alarming overreach of executive power that undermines democratic norms and the system of checks and balances. Claiming actions are legal simply because they "save the country" is a justification historically used by authoritarians to seize power. We must reject any attempts to consolidate control and erode constitutional constraints, as that path leads to dictatorship and the loss of essential freedoms. I urge a return to respecting the rule of law, judicial independence, and the legitimate transfer of power through free and fair elections. Unchecked executive overreach poses an existential threat to American democracy and self-governance. We cannot allow a dangerous precedent of a leader circumventing constitutional limits and rewriting laws by decree.
