I hold you and all other Republican elected and appointed governmnet officials responsible for the shutdown of government services and the harm it is causing to Floridians - our families, veterans, children, the disabled, and the elderly. You must work to remove cuts to Affordable Care Act subsidies so that Floridians can afford their health insurance and our health care system will sustain. You should also work to restore Medicaid funding and work with state-level officials here to expand Medicaid. It would be a great system if we allowed Floridians to buy into Medicaid. Over time that could replace the ACA. Floridians need access to affordable health care so we can grow our businesses and thrive economically. A sick workforce and small business owners who have medical debt drag down the economy. Your leadership is needed to convince the President and others in the Republican Party that health care access must be solid so that the economy can thrive.
