I have typically not been overly involved in politics. I have exercised my right to vote, and then trusted that the elected official (whether my preferred candidate or not) would respect the constitution while carrying out his or her agenda. The last 8 days have shown me that Donald Trump will not be respecting our constitution. I am on high alert watching as he attempts to bully his way into more power than he deserves to have. He is flooding the field with a flurry of executive orders that disrespect the constitution while he devalues and discriminates against people in this country based on skin color, gender, and sexual orientation. He is attempting to bully everyone in his path until they all fall in line. I expect ALL of my representatives to stand up for what is right and stand up against Donald Trump. Do NOT be bullied into accepting unqualified Cabinet appointees. Do NOT allow Donald Trump to wrangle power over the budget away from Congress. Do NOT allow Donald Trump to continue doing things that are outside of his power as president of the United States. Do NOT allow him to swiftly downsize the government with these widespread severance offers to Federal Employees. I expect you to stand up and say something. File lawsuits. STAND IN HIS WAY. Do the right thing. I am watching. We are all watching. Do not fail us. Do not allow Donald Trump to walk all over the framework of our government. Do not allow his blatant abuses of power to continue. If we have to spend the next four years fighting tooth and nail to save any shred of democracy- that is what I expect from you.
