I am writing as a constituent who is deeply troubled by your participation in the recent event at Fort Liberty (renamed by MAGA as Fort Bragg) alongside President Trump, as reported in this Military.com article (https://www.military.com/daily-news/2025/06/12/army-officials-pushed-back-pop-maga-shop-ahead-of-fort-bragg-trump-speech.html). The report outlines how Army officials raised serious concerns about political activity on base — including the promotion of MAGA merchandise — in clear conflict with Department of Defense regulations. Your presence at an event that appears to blur the line between political campaigning and military neutrality is not only disappointing, it undermines long-standing norms meant to protect our democracy and our armed forces from politicization. According to this article, one of the various MAGA related items for sale was a faux credit card with the text “White Privilege Card: Trumps Everything”.  So in addition to my concerns about the political merchandise mentioned above, some of the merchandise also is clearly meant to promote white supremacy.  Fort Liberty is a place of service and sacrifice. It should never be used as a backdrop for partisan rallies, nor should the military be co-opted for political theater (other reports already indicate the soldiers behind Trump on camera were hand-selected supporters). I expect my elected representatives to uphold the integrity of our institutions — not participate in actions that erode them. I urge you to clarify your position on the use of military installations for political purposes and to publicly commit to respecting the apolitical nature of our armed forces in the future. You are up for re-election and your constituents are watching your every move.
