The 'Big Beautiful Bill' proposed by President Trump would have disastrous consequences for the nation's finances and future economic stability. According to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, this legislation would add a staggering $2.4 trillion to the federal deficit over the next decade, not even accounting for compounding interest costs. While the bill extends the Trump-era tax cuts, amounting to $3.7 trillion in forgone revenue, the proposed spending reductions of $1.3 trillion are woefully insufficient to offset such a massive loss of funds. This imbalance would exacerbate the already unsustainable trajectory of the national debt, projected to reach 156% of GDP by mid-century under current policies. Fiscally responsible policies that address the root causes of the ballooning debt are urgently needed, not doubling down on the same reckless tax cuts and token spending trims. For the long-term prosperity of our nation, this bill must be rejected.
