Reject Funding Cuts to the National Institutes of Health

To: Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis, Rep. Maloy

From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT

March 17

I need you to reject any proposed cuts to the National Institutes of Health and fight to maintain full funding for this critical agency. The NIH drives medical breakthroughs that save lives and strengthen our economy. Cutting its budget would slow research on cancer, Alzheimer's, diabetes, and countless other diseases that affect millions of Americans. These aren't abstract concerns. Every family in our district has been touched by illness, and the NIH is our best tool for finding cures and treatments. Beyond health outcomes, NIH funding creates jobs and economic growth. Every dollar invested generates roughly $2.60 in local economic activity through research positions, lab equipment purchases, and spinoff companies. Cutting this funding would hurt both patients waiting for treatments and workers who depend on research jobs. Stand with medical research. Oppose any budget proposal that reduces NIH funding.
