Ban Congressional Stock Trading

To: Rep. Horsford, Sen. Cortez Masto, Sen. Rosen

From: A constituent in Las Vegas, NV

August 3

I am writing as a constituent to express my strong support for the HONEST Act, which would ban members of Congress from trading individual stocks. This is an essential step toward restoring public trust in our government. It is unacceptable for lawmakers—who have access to nonpublic information and whose decisions can directly impact markets—to personally profit from trading stocks. Even the appearance of insider trading undermines the credibility of our institutions and erodes confidence in the legislative process. Passing the HONEST Act would send a clear message that public service is about representing the people, not personal financial gain. I urge you to put the interests of your constituents ahead of Wall Street and ensure that Congress is held to the same—or higher—ethical standards as the rest of the country. Please vote yes on the HONEST Act and work to ensure its swift passage in both chambers. Thank you for your time and your commitment to integrity in government.
