Many US citizens/voters have deep concern about the recent escalation of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations targeting immigrants in major U.S. cities.
These raids and detentions not only terrorize immigrant communities but also undermine the safety and trust essential for our neighborhoods to thrive. ICE’s aggressive tactics often lead to fear and confusion among residents, including children, many of whom are American citizens or legal residents. Families are being torn apart without due process, and community members are less inclined to cooperate with local law enforcement, which ultimately jeopardizes public safety for everyone.
Moreover, these actions disproportionately affect hardworking immigrants contributing to our economy and society. This is crucial in Florida.
Plus: Our children are seeing ICE abuse and having nightmares and intrusive fearful thoughts!
Instead of fostering fear and division, we should focus on comprehensive immigration reform and policies that protect human rights and uphold dignity.
I urge you to support legislation that holds ICE accountable, limits raids in sanctuary cities, and promotes humane treatment and due process for all individuals. Our community’s strength relies on compassion and justice—not intimidation and fear.
