Concern and fear over LVMPD's implementation of Cybertrucks

To: Sen. Cortez Masto, Sen. Rosen, Rep. Lee

From: A constituent in Las Vegas, NV

February 27

Thank you so much for your service to Nevada. I truly appreciate you fighting for us. Today, I am writing because I am appalled that LVMPD is planning on implementing Cybertrucks. As a Las Vegas resident, this is deeply disturbing to me. This sends a terrible message to the city and the rest of the country, given Elon Musk's known affiliation with white supremacists, his use of what was undoubtedly a Nazi salute, and his illegal dismantling of the federal government. I would not be a proud resident of this city if these trucks are implemented, and know that this would accelerate my plan to eventually move somewhere safer. Additionally, Cybertucks are known to be unreliable. Should these trucks be utilized, I fear for the safety of our city. I also have concerns that, despite the fleet supposedly being "donated," our tax dollars would still go towards the inevitable repair and/or replacement of these trucks when they fail to perform. I am not sure what power you have to address the situation, but I wanted to add my voice to the growing dissent that is reverberating through the city because of this terrible plan.
