Unmask ICE agents. Pass the Visible Act. No one should be forced to guess whether the person detaining them is a real government agent—or just someone in tactical gear with a badge they bought online. The VISIBLE Act (S.2212) offers a simple fix: require ICE, CBP, and deputized officers to display clear identification and not hide their faces during public operations, except in dangerous situations. ICE actions in Los Angeles have not been dangerous situations. For example, walking in riot gear and parading on horseback in MacArthur Park, was not a dangerous situation. It was a made for TV show, and terrified children in the park. It was shameful.
