Oppose the No Rogue Rulings Act (H.R. 7031)
To: Rep. Carey
From: A constituent in Columbus, OH
March 30
I strongly urge you to oppose H.R. 7031, the No Rogue Rulings Act. This bill would dangerously undermine the role of federal courts by prohibiting nationwide injunctions, limiting the judiciary’s ability to check unconstitutional laws and executive overreach.
Nationwide injunctions have been used by courts across the political spectrum to protect constitutional rights, from blocking the Trump administration’s Muslim travel ban to halting Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan. This bill is not about stopping “rogue rulings”—it is about stripping courts of their power to protect Americans from unlawful government actions.
As my representative, I ask that you stand up for the checks and balances that safeguard our democracy. Please vote NO on H.R. 7031 and uphold the judiciary’s ability to serve as an independent check on executive and legislative power.
I would appreciate a response explaining your position.
