The proposed $3.3 billion military sale to Israel includes 50 advanced F-15IA fighter jets, engines, radars, launchers, and other components. As taxpayers, it is concerning to see such a significant amount of our money allocated towards foreign military aid instead of addressing pressing domestic needs. The recent tropical storm Helene has left many in Western North Carolina in dire circumstances, facing extensive property damage, power outages, and disruptions to vital services. Diverting even a portion of the funds intended for this arms deal could provide much-needed relief and support to our fellow citizens recovering from natural disasters. We should prioritize the well-being of the American people over contributing to potential conflicts abroad. It is crucial that our tax dollars are invested in initiatives that uplift and protect our communities, rather than enabling actions that could further destabilize regions or enable human rights violations.
