’m writing to you not only as a citizen of the United States but as a mother, a voter, and someone who still holds onto the belief that our country can and must stand on the right side of history. What is happening in Gaza is not a “conflict.” It is a humanitarian catastrophe—a genocide—and our government's role in funding, arming, and shielding it must stop.
I have spent every day witnessing children pulled from rubble, families starving, entire hospitals bombed. I’ve seen video after video of horrors no one should have to endure, let alone children. These are not political pawns. These are lives, souls, people with names and dreams. The U.S. has sent over $14 billion in support to a government actively violating international law, and now you are being asked to send more. I urge you, as a matter of conscience: Say no.
History is watching. The world is watching. But most importantly, the children who survive this are watching too. They will grow up knowing who helped them—and who chose to stay silent.
This is not about antisemitism. It’s about ending state violence. It’s about upholding human rights and dignity for all, including Palestinians. I am deeply disturbed by our government's continued enabling of Israel's military aggression, while millions suffer without food, water, medicine, or shelter.
Please reject any further military aid to Israel and call for an immediate, permanent ceasefire. Support international investigations into war crimes. And ensure our taxpayer dollars do not fund oppression, apartheid, and the mass killing of civilians.
Silence is complicity. I refuse to be silent.
