The United States of America, under Donald Trump and Jared Kushner's direction, plan on helping Saudi Arabia get nuclear capacity. The two nations signed a pact on July 22, 2026. It was a landmark civil nuclear cooperation agreement, featuring a 30-year partnership, priority access for U.S. companies, and potential uranium enrichment provisions. Although the pact Includes a peaceful nuclear cooperation agreement and a bilateral safeguards agreement, I have concerns about conflicts of interest in this deal. It would give American nuclear firms priority to supply reactors and fuel for Saudi Arabia's domestic infrastructure, as well as giving American nuclear firms priority to supply reactors and fuel for Saudi Arabia's domestic infrastructure. The agreement has been transmitted to Congress for a mandatory 90-day review period. I would like Congress to strongly oppose this pact for the following reasons. - 1. This pact could allow for future domestic uranium enrichment capability. 2. I have not forgotten that most of the 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia. Their government has failed to control terrorist organizations in the past and it's too big of a risk to our country's security to consider giving them the ability to develop nuclear weapons. 3. I have deep concerns that the Trump family have a deep financial stake in this transaction going through, or that it is going forward in exchange for Trump getting more lucrative estate deals with Saudi Arabia. 4. Jared Kushner has acted as an unofficial senior White House advisor while his private equity firm, Affinity Partners, secured a $2 billion investment from Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund, the Public Investment Fund (PIF). That is in addition to the more than $110 million Kushner has personally collected in management fees. Kushner maintains a close relationship with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and has operated as an informal or special foreign policy envoy, raising consistent conflict-of-interest concerns from ethics watchdogs and lawmakers. The stakes are too high to get this wrong! As this is under Congressional review, I implore you to stand firmly against this pact. We must not be responsible for giving Saudi Arabia access to nuclear infrastructure and a path to enriching uranium!
