Please oppose the KIDS act, HR 7757! This bill promotes even more digital surveillance and collection of personally identifying information attached to online activity, which ultimately results in pressure to restrict even legal speech. This bill would be continuing the awful legacy of the PATRIOT act by enabling more surveillance of American’s digital activity. Do we want that now? Do we want trans Americans who post about their identity to be detained by ICE? Do we want proud, nonviolent anarchists to be targeted even more easily by the CIA? This bill does not help children, and it certainly doesn’t help the rest of us.
