House Bill 77 is at targeted attack at children

To: Rep. Dailey-Provost, Gov. Cox, Sen. Plumb

From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT

February 24

This bill unfairly targets and marginalizes LGBTQ+ students by prohibiting the display of pride flags in classrooms. Pride flags are not political symbols, but rather representations of identity and community for LGBTQ+ individuals. Banning their display sends a harmful message that these students are not accepted or supported in an environment that should foster inclusion and affirmation. Schools should be safe, welcoming spaces for all students regardless of their gender identity or sexual orientation. I urge you to reject this discriminatory legislation that aims to silence and erase LGBTQ+ identities under the guise of political neutrality. Our schools and public institutions should celebrate diversity, not censor it.
