I am writing as a concerned citizen to demand that you take immediate action to stop President Trump’s “emergency” tariffs. These tariffs are reckless economists and market analysts agree these tariffs will trigger a recession, and we are already seeing the consequences. The stock market has crashed and everyday Americans will bear the burden through higher prices and job losses. Congress has the power to intervene. Under the Constitution, trade policy should not be unilaterally dictated by one individual under the false pretense of a national emergency. I urge you to stand up for economic stability, for workers, and for the rule of law. Take a stand against these harmful tariffs before they further destabilize our economy.
