Stop traumatizing children and their families! They came for HOPE not hostility!

April 6

On Easter Sunday, while a massive amount of christians celebrated the resurrection of one of God’s own, media reported that another of God’s children- a toddler separated from her mother at the Mexican border and placed into foster care by ICE, was sexually abused by her foster parents. Are we great again? For five months, a young father waited for his 3-year-old daughter's release from federal custody after she crossed the U.S.-Mexico border with her mother, hoping through delays for their safe reunion. Only when he turned to the courts as a last resort did he learn that the girl had suffered alleged sexual abuse at the foster home where she'd been placed after immigration officials separated her from her mother. It’s bad enough that our foster care system is overflowing with American-born children. Now we are taking hopeful young immigrant children and subjecting them to the same atrocities. Why has her father been denied custody? Why has her mother not be released from detainment- even back to Mexico- and reunited with her daughter? Why am I having to even ask these asinine questions in a country touting a motto that says we are the land of the free? Release EVERYONE. Now! Stop terrorizing and traumatizing children and families!
