Investigate All Individuals Named in Epstein Files and Hold Obstructors Accountable
To: Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis, Rep. Maloy
From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT
February 24
The recent release of millions of files from the Jeffrey Epstein investigation has revealed disturbing connections between the convicted sex offender and numerous powerful individuals. I am writing to demand that you support comprehensive investigations into every person named in these documents. Your failure to hold powerful men accountable is unacceptable, and I expect you to take immediate action.
The files detail communications involving dozens of prominent figures that demand thorough investigation. October 2018 text messages show then-Slovakia Foreign Minister Miroslav Lajčák discussing "games" involving girls with Epstein. February 2017 emails show Deepak Chopra inviting Epstein to Israel saying "Bring your girls" and "use a fake name." Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick brought his family to Epstein's private island in December 2012, contradicting his claims of cutting ties in 2005. FBI documents identify retail billionaire Les Wexner as a potential "co-conspirator."
Other countries have demonstrated the political will to hold powerful individuals accountable. Lord Mandelson was arrested in February after Metropolitan Police launched a criminal investigation following claims he passed market-sensitive information to Epstein, with bank statements showing $75,000 in payments to accounts connected to him. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested in mid-February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. Brad Karp stepped down as Paul Weiss law firm chairman after files showed dozens of email exchanges, including a March 2019 message stating "The draft motion is in great shape" regarding efforts to protect Epstein's 2008 plea deal.
America cannot continue to shield the wealthy and connected from scrutiny while other nations pursue justice. Anyone who attempts to block or limit these investigations should themselves be investigated for potential obstruction of justice. Such actions raise serious questions about their own involvement or complicity, and they likely belong on the list of those being investigated.
I demand that you publicly support full investigations into all individuals named in the Epstein files, oppose any legislative or administrative efforts to limit these inquiries, and call for investigations into anyone who attempts to obstruct justice. Epstein's victims deserve accountability regardless of wealth or status.
