I’m horrified by the number of children kicked off food stamps in Florida recently. I am also worried about adults - don’t get me wrong - I think feeding hungry people is important and nonnegotiable. However, the fact that Florida had no idea that the number of children going hungry because of the “Big Beautiful Bill” would be this high seems like a huge problem. When kids are hungry they can’t learn. When kids are hungry their parents can’t focus on anything else. When kids are hungry every last one of us is failing the society in which we live. We are failing. This needs to be fixed. I want my tax dollars spent on feeding people and not wars in the Middle East, weapons for Israel, or tax cuts for the already wealthy.
